When God distributed lands between different nations, there was not a Georgian among them. He came to God later, when all lands were distributed...

He asked God for land. “I have distibuted all lands already. Why are you so late? Where have you been?”- Said God. “O my God! I have had party with my friends and we drank toast to You” - Answered Georgian guy. God smiled. “Seemingly you are smart guy. I have preserved small spot for myself... I gift it to you”

This is legend of course, but there is grain of truth in every legend. Georgia is really beautiful place.
