We all know that the web is now an international marketplace where you can buy or sell anything. And I mean anything. (Try looking up Aardvarks some time!) After going through the figures, I realized that the net was definitely the best way to start up my own business using very little money, staff, inventory and stress. Sounds great doesn't it? I bet your mind is just racing with ideas. Before you get ahead of yourself, you will need to know the how-to's of writing your web site, marketing your ideas and following through gracefully. The first step is to ask yourself: What am I so good at that I could do blindfolded, hungover, whatever? Do I have a mind-blowing product that will sell and make me millions? (Well, maybe not MILLIONS) :) Am I a so-called expert on cars? Or fashion? Or sex? (Be honest.) The second step would be to do some research. Is there a market for my product? What are my competitors doing to sell their stuff? How do you find out all of this?
